Hello December!
’Tis the Season to Sparkle!
As we embrace the final month of the year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on all we’ve accomplished and look ahead with hope and anticipation. If you’ve been following us throughout the year, you will have seen the complete transformation of our showroom and workshop—a huge success that’s delighted so many customers. If you missed it, don’t worry; you can catch up on our photo diary here.
The year has truly flown by! We’ve been honoured to craft bespoke engagement and wedding rings and repurpose treasured heirlooms into modern, meaningful designs. It’s been a busy but rewarding time, with new team members joining us and stunning new pieces filling our windows. Teal sapphires stole the spotlight as the gemstone of the year, and we can’t wait to see what unique projects and sparkling requests 2025 will bring!
December is a season of joy, celebration, and connection. The Christmas parties are in full swing, and everyone is coming together to wrap up the year in good spirits. Whether you’re decking the halls, setting goals for the year ahead, or cozying up with an eggnog, mulled wine, or hot chocolate, this month is all about socialising, sharing, and sparkling! From the twinkle of Christmas lights and trees to the dazzling brilliance of diamonds, it’s a time to shine.
Still searching for the perfect gift or party style inspiration? We’ve put together a Christmas gift guide to help you find something truly special. Plus, there’s so much more in our showroom—if you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for, visit us and let us assist you in finding the perfect piece.
How about a gift voucher? Let your loved ones choose their own piece of jewellery or put it toward creating or altering something meaningful. You choose the amount, and we’ll take care of the rest!
As we bid farewell to this year and welcome the next, we want to thank you all for your loyalty and custom. May your December be filled with joy, warmth, and the promise of wonderful things to come. Here’s to a bright and beautiful year ahead!

Timeless Gift Ideas for Christmas: Build the Perfect Jewellery Collection
Thinking of gifting jewellery but unsure where to start? Trends may come and go, but classic pieces remain iconic, effortlessly elevating any outfit with a refined and polished look. Investing in high-quality basics ensures longevity and versatility, making them staples you can wear time and time again. Start by choosing your metal—whether it’s gold, silver, or platinum—and then focus on building a collection of essential pieces. Here are some must-have items every jewellery box should include:
Diamond studs (think outside the box and go for different shapes and sizes)
Hoops earrings, plain or diamond set from small Huggies to large statement
Stacking rings in various metals and designs with or without gemstones
Diamond tennis or line bracelets
Gold bangles, with or without gemstones
Cocktail and Signet rings
Classic chain necklaces such as paper links, anchors, rope, choker
Pearls; necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets. Pearls can elevate an outfit to timeless chic
Gemstone jewellery; either favourite colours or birthstone gems. Sapphires are the most popular gemstone after diamonds.
In addition to our own hand-crafted jewellery created in our Chichester workshop we also are proud stockists of British jewellery designers: Kit Heath, Alex Monroe and Auree jewellery. Pop into our showroom to see their collections that are beautifully displayed in our windows! Stunning solid sterling silver and gold plated jewellery for under £300 you’ll always find something for everyone. Travel, places and people’s stories of adventure, the British Devon coast and Suffolk countryside, nature, wildlife and romance are a constant source of inspiration for these three British designers.
Tip: We offer a free ring-sizing so if you are gifting a ring pop in to see us after Christmas and we will resize the ring free of charge in our workshop within a couple of hours. But if you don’t know their ring size or are unsure then opting for earrings, bracelets and pendants is always a good choice.
Extended Returns for Christmas:
Jewellery purchased between November and December can be exchanged up to 31st January at 16:00pm with proof of purchase, providing the returned item is unworn. For items purchased in January the normal 28 days return policy will apply.
Credit notes will only be issued at the discretion of Timothy Roe Fine Jewellery Ltd. and are valid for up to 12 months.
We are unable to offer refunds.
Please note that we will not exchange sized, altered, engraved or commissioned items. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Bring back your sparkle for the party season!
Hand creams, sun lotion, and even soil from gardening can find their way into the crevices of your rings and stones, dulling their shine over time. These stubborn build-ups are tricky to clean without professional tools. If your jewellery has lost its sparkle, why not pop in for a same-day clean and polish? It’s the perfect way to boost your shimmer for the holidays! Alternatively, drop your pieces off in the New Year for a thorough clean and check once your social calendar slows down.
Think your friends would love our newsletters? Forward this email to them and encourage them to sign up via our website—they’ll receive a free Level One Clean for a piece of jewellery! Let us show you why our same-day cleaning services are exceptional and guaranteed to restore the brilliance you love.
Level 1: approximately 20 minutes, includes stone check, ultrasonic and steam clean, £10
Level 2: approximately 60 minutes, includes stone check, ultrasonic and steam clean with full polish of the metal, £35
Level 3: approximately two hours, includes stone check, ultrasonic and steam clean, full polish of the metal and a rhodium plating (for silver or white gold jewellery), £45
(Please note that some jewellery might need extra work or care and some gemstones may not be able to go into the ultrasonic but we thoroughly inspect all items before cleaning and we will inform you of any issues before we take it in.)

From the Bench:
Get to know our goldsmith Sam Roe and what he loves about his work!
1. What’s your favourite tool: my calliper because it makes me work to exact precision which is very satisfying knowing things are made to exact measurements. It’s a universal tool that I use for multiple jobs including melt and makes.
2. What was your favourite project: I once made a rose gold bracelet which allowed me to practice and learn many different goldsmithing skills in one project. It was hand made, I had to stamp out metal plates and punch out discs like polo mint shapes and make them flat to shape them into a comfortable wearable bracelet. It was a really nice project that encompassed a diverse range of skills and techniques.
3. What do you like about your job: Aside from winding up Dimitrios (smirks) I strive to achieve perfection. It is a rewarding feeling and there is a sense of pride when you do a job well. I love the final finish and polish when the piece looks amazing. There is a lot of variety in this job which is great.
4. Favourite metal or gemstone: I love emerald and teal sapphires. The colours are really pretty. I also love when you can see inclusions in the stone like wisps and feathers; that’s cool. I know people think they are flaws but I just really like it and think it makes the stone more interesting.
