It’s a season that invites us to appreciate the warmth of home—whether that's in the kitchen trying new recipes, on a peaceful country walk surrounded by the vibrant autumn leaves, or wrapped up with a good book as the evenings draw in.

Autumn is the season of cozy sophistication, where cool summer styling moves from the light and brights and becomes all about layering textures, adding in warmer richer tones, and creating effortless elegance. Gold prices increase to new record levels and are predicted to hit the 3000 USD mark by 2025.

Gold has long been considered a safe haven during uncertain times, and its price has been steadily climbing for years. However, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic sparked record spikes in gold prices as uncertainty gripped the global economy. Since then, the value of gold has continued to rise, and experts predict it could reach new all-time highs, with estimates of $3,000 per ounce by 2025.

This upward trend presents both opportunities and challenges for consumers, especially those considering purchasing or selling gold jewellery, such as engagement rings or wedding bands. With prices up by approximately £400 over the past year, now may be an opportune time to make those purchases before the price climbs even higher.

Why Now Might Be the Time to Buy Gold Jewellery

For anyone planning to buy gold jewellery, whether for special occasions like engagements and weddings or as an investment, purchasing now could save you money in the long term. As gold prices continue to climb, jewellery items could become significantly more expensive in the coming years.

What to Do With Old Gold Jewellery

If you have old gold jewellery or items you no longer wear, now could be a great time to consider selling or repurposing them. The high price of gold means you could get more for your unwanted pieces. Rising gold prices also mean you may need to revisit your home or contents insurance policies. So what or who is driving the gold prices?

Generally, and explained in very basic terms, whenever there is uncertainty, whether economically, politically or socially, people will lose faith in physical currencies and turn to commodities like gold that always hold its value. The reason behind this thinking is if currencies, physical or digital, crashed then people could use gold to buy things or trade with. This naturally drives prices higher as demand increases. When the economy or political scene stabilises and things are calmer and feel more under control people will return to normal spending and stop buying gold which then results in the gold price going down. Looking at shorter time frames gold prices will fluctuate but over a longer period we can see that gold continues to climb.
